HoLa, I’m marely.
Growing up in a family of healers and natural people, I was always fascinated by all things mystical. I’ve first hand encountered the power of plants, prayer, and god guiding me and supporting me through many health, emotional, and mental challenges throughout my child and adulthood.
How? well here is a bit of my history:
Being on medication for depression and anxiety, struggling with obesity, high cholesterol and eating disorders, psych wards for self harm and plans on ending my life, spinning webs of lies and chaos within my relationships, and going through sexual assault, childhood grooming and abusive relationships.
I decided to stop blaming the world and getting comfortable in the seat of a victim. I decided to take responsibility on how I would continue writing my story and make medicine out of the cards I was handed.
I came across plant medicine when I was 16 and it changed my life. I saw into the mysterious web of life and my place within it. That wasn’t enough though - I had to do my work in the material everyday living and not just a psychedelic state. That took time.
I quit using junk food and sex to numb myself, I stopped self harming, I stopped hanging out with all my friends (who I would just do drugs with and stupid shit), I stopped drinking and doing drugs, I stopped taking in certain media.
I started practicing yoga, working with food and herbs as medicine, meditating, making art daily, studying eastern philosophy + Ayurveda, taking accountability, cultivating integrity and discipline - basically sorting, healing, and getting my shit together.
I did my first Yoga teacher training in 2017 with Breathe N Flow Yoga on Long Island, and taught an array of classes in yoga studio’s for 8 years. During this time I also worked teaching painting classes, while attending SUNY Old Westbury in Long Island, NY.
I have a Bachlors degree in Fine Art’s, and a minor in Philosophy. I had a wonderful time in college. I made friends with no one, no partying, no alcohol, just yoga, road tripping to camp in the Catskills on weekends, and art.
I continued my studies with eastern medicine, taking several trainings and attending retreats with knowledgable teachers in anatomy, philosophy, yin yoga, restorative yoga, hatha yoga, zen meditation, meridian yoga therapy and Ayurveda.
Eastern medicine and arts have intertwined with my world of amazonian medicines after working on my own healing with them for the past 8 years.
For the past 6 years i’ve hosted retreats where amazonian medicines such as Kambo, a purification ritual from a frog, are administered and supported with yoga classes and meridian therapy bodywork.
You can find me in the woods, traveling to assist ceremonies as a musician, or leading workshops, events, retreats, and online courses.
My work is curated around my love and experience with: yoga & meditation, women’s vitality, medicine making, ceremonies, bodywork, and art.
